Subluxation (sub-luk-say-shun) is the mis-alignment of the vertebrae causing compression, tension, irritation and damage to the body’s central nervous system, which is comprised of the brain, the spinal cord, the spinal nerves, all of which basically competely controls all bodily functions causeing organs and muscles to malfunction and heal poorly and lowers resistance to infection, allergies, illness and disease.
Subluxations are caused by a lifetime of stress and trauma. Slips, falls, auto accidents, sports injuries, poor posture, bad sleeping habits, stresses at work or home, childhood mishaps and even the birth process can cause the spinal cord to move out of it’s normal position.
The disruption of the central nervous system, which totally controls every function and healing processes of the human body, can only be caused by any mis-alignment, or subluxation, of the spinal cord.
In many many cases subluxation is present without evidence of the body’s usual warning symptoms that something is not functioning properly. Insofar as there are no warning symptoms to indicate the presence of subluxation, subluxation can only be detected by X-rays of the spine and neck.
Subluxation can also be detected by a doctor of chiropractic. Dr. Cooper primarily utilizes postural analysis, X-rays and palpation.
