Many patients with sleep apnea have responded well to chiropractic care.  I have almost never seen a patient with sleep apnea that did not have a reversed curve in their neck.  When you have a proper curve in your neck, the structures of your throat allow space for air flow.  When there is a reversed curve in your neck, these structures are jammed together allowing no air flow.   Certainly weight is a factor, but alignment is every bit as important if not more so.  In addition to the mirror image exercise, adjustment and traction most patients benefit from, I recommend these patients use a fulcrum under their necks with no pillow under their heads at night. For more information call or come to one of our spinal care classes, ususally Thursdays at 6pm.
